Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck reunited on Good Friday for a family outing in Los Angeles, joining their youngest son Samuel for a low-key holiday appearance that drew attention because of who showed up together, not where they went.
Garner walked beside Samuel, 14, in jeans and a long cardigan, while Affleck wore a crisp button-down shirt and khakis. He smiled as he interacted with their son, a small but telling scene from a family that has kept showing up for the same milestones even after its split.
The outing lands after another public family moment earlier this year. On February 28, Garner and Affleck co-hosted Samuel’s 14th birthday at Combat Paintball Park in Castaic, California, and witnesses at the same park said Affleck hugged Garner and laughed with her during the previous year’s celebration. Together, the two are still the parents their children turn to for birthdays, holidays and the ordinary rituals that continue after a marriage ends.

That steady appearance matters because Garner and Affleck have maintained an amicable relationship since their 2018 divorce, and their repeated joint appearances have become a visible sign of how they handle parenting now. Garner recently put that reality plainly in an interview on Bustle’s One Nightstand YouTube series, saying: “When your kids grow up in two separate households, I become mom and dad and he becomes dad and mom.” She added, “You kind of can’t help it because you don’t have the benefit of both sides of the yin and yang being in the same house,” and, “There’s a little bit of loss in that, but there’s also something gained in that.”

For now, the pattern is clear. The divorce did not end their shared public life around their three children, and when the occasion is Samuel, the former couple still appears together, comfortable enough to be seen, and cooperative enough to make the arrangement look ordinary.
