New episodes of Ahsoka Season 2 will arrive on Disney+ in early 2027, Rosario Dawson said Tuesday during Disney’s upfront presentation, setting a long-awaited return for the Star Wars series after a three-year wait.
Dawson framed the next chapter as bigger in scope, saying, “This season, the battles are bigger and the stakes are higher.” The timing gives viewers a concrete target after the show last aired in October 2023, when the first season ended with Grand Admiral Thrawn jumping to hyperspace, Ezra stowing away in the space loop, and Ahsoka and Sabine marooned on Peridea.
That finale left the story split across the galaxy and made a second season a necessity rather than a possibility. Disney also showed a sneak peek that featured creator Dave Filoni and cast members discussing how the new episodes are being made, underscoring that the series is deep into its next phase even as fans are still waiting for the premiere date to reach their screens.
The returning cast adds to that momentum. Hayden Christensen is set to come back as Anakin Skywalker, Rory McCann is stepping in as Baylan Skol after Ray Stevenson’s death, and Admiral Ackbar is returning as well. Filoni said Baylan Skol is “going head-to-head with Thrawn,” a sign that the series is pushing its rivalries forward rather than simply picking up where it left off.
For Disney+, the early 2027 window answers the question fans have been asking since the Season 1 finale aired in October 2023: when does Ahsoka come back? The answer is now clear. The next run is coming, and it is coming with bigger battles, higher stakes, and unfinished business already built into the story.
