Ubisoft will hold a livestream on April 23 at 12PM ET to discuss Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, the long-awaited remake of its pirate-era hit. The showcase will stream on the company’s YouTube and Twitch pages.
The game was announced last month, but Ubisoft has shown only promotional art of Edward Kenway lounging on a boat. That has left fans waiting for the first real look at what the project actually is, and the livestream is expected to answer many of the burning questions around it.
The wait has lasted years. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has been rumored for a long time, and the chatter has pointed in two directions: a top-to-bottom remake rather than a simple port, and a version that cuts the modern-day sections in favor of pirate action. Ubisoft has described it as a “unique, darker, narrative-driven Assassin’s Creed experience,” but it has not yet shown how that idea plays on screen.
That gap is why Wednesday’s presentation matters now. Ubisoft has given the game a name and a date for a discussion, but not a trailer, gameplay demo or any clear proof of how far the remake goes. If the company is ready to show more than art, April 23 should be the moment it finally tells players whether this is a fresh rebuild or a familiar voyage with a darker tone.
