Karol G headlined the Coachella Stage at 9:55 p.m. Sunday and became the first Latina artist to top the festival’s bill, closing out Weekend 1 with a set that marked the last day of the opening stretch at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.
The headline slot came after a packed three-day run that also featured Sabrina Carpenter on Friday, Justin Bieber on Saturday and, on Sunday, performances from Young Thug, Wet Leg, Laufey, Roz, Foster the People, Iggy Pop and Fatboy Slim. A special screening of the season three premiere of Euphoria followed at about 11:59 p.m. in the campgrounds, giving the festival its first television show screening.
Carpenter’s Friday appearance was tied to Sabrina’s Pit Stop, an installation that remained open through Sunday. She had described the project as “a full circle moment” and said she wanted it to feel like “a surrealist fantasy land” for fans, while the festival also included the Radiohead Motion Picture House Kid A Mnesia. Radiohead was not scheduled to perform this year, but its name still appeared among the installations surrounding the weekend’s music.

The final day also carried a different kind of backdrop. The Indio Police Department urged attendees and nearby residents on Thursday to call its non-emergency line for concert-related concerns, a reminder that the festival’s biggest moments now unfold alongside the ordinary work of managing traffic, noise and crowds. With nine acts on Sunday and a first-ever TV screening after the last performance, Coachella used Weekend 1 to stretch beyond its usual concert frame. Karol G’s set made the answer clear: the festival’s biggest stage is no longer reserved for the same names, and the history made on Sunday is the story that will travel far beyond Indio.
