Scott Probst, the younger brother of Survivor host Jeff Probst, has died. Brent Probst announced the death on Instagram on Monday, writing, “Some sad news, our brother Scott is no longer with us.”
Brent Probst said Scott was “a great brother, son and friend” and added, “I will miss him so much. I’m so sad he is gone.” Jeff Probst, 64, has not commented publicly on his brother’s death.
Scott worked on Survivor alongside Jeff Probst and was credited on 28 episodes across a span of years. He was listed as an art assistant on a few episodes from 2006 to 2008 and later as a camera assistant on a few episodes from 2011 to 2012. IMDb also lists him as a producer on a range of video games.
The loss comes 18 months after the death of the brothers’ mother, Barb Probst, who died in November 2024. Survivor later paid tribute to her in a season 47 episode with a card that read, “Dedicated to Barb, the biggest Survivor fan of all time. See you on our next adventure.” The Probst brothers are from Wichita, Kansas, and Jeff is the oldest of three brothers.
Scott’s death lands as Survivor 50 prepares to air its final episodes ahead of the live finale on 20 May, while Jeff is currently filming season 51. For the family, the public tribute to Barb now reads less like a farewell than a warning of how much more this show has already taken from them.
