Dwayne Johnson was pulled over by police in Hollywood on Thursday, shortly after he spoke at Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci’s joint Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. The stop reportedly happened for tinted windows, and Johnson appeared calm as he dealt with the ticket.
Johnson got out of the car to cooperate with the officer and allegedly shook the officer’s hand after stepping out. He wore a crisp white shirt and cream trousers, a polished look that matched the formal feel of the ceremony he had just attended.
At the Walk of Fame event, Johnson praised Blunt in remarks that tied their work together and the respect between them. He said she is “one grateful woman who will wake up feet on the ground, being grateful about every moment,” adding that gratitude “then leads to the thing I think we all look for, which is joy and peace of mind,” and that those qualities “make up Emily and so much more.”
Blunt returned the favor with her own comments, saying, “It’s very difficult to sum up how meaningful this is to me, and the juggernaut that showed up to speak about me has just blown my hair back.” She also said, “You guys and the great loves of my life, who are all here, have made life such a deep privilege.” Meryl Streep and Matt Damon were among the others who spoke at the ceremony.
The traffic stop came after a day that had already put Johnson back beside Blunt in public, after their 2021 pairing in Jungle Cruise and their reunion in last year’s The Smashing Machine. The contrast was hard to miss: a Hollywood celebration on one side of the afternoon, then a roadside ticket on the other, with Johnson handling both moments without visible drama.
