Prime Video has renewed Hazbin Hotel for a fifth and final season, setting up the end of the adult animated series after the next chapter arrives on the platform. The news was revealed Saturday during the show’s panel at LVL UP Expo, with the season set to premiere in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on a date yet to be announced.
That gives the series a clear finish line after a run that began with Vivienne Medrano’s animated pilot on YouTube in 2019, which quickly drew over 120 million views and built a devoted fan base. The show follows Charlie, the princess of Hell, as she tries to rehabilitate demons to cut down overpopulation in her kingdom after angels impose a yearly extermination, and the premise has carried it from online cult hit to global streaming property.
Medrano, who created Hazbin Hotel, serves as executive producer and directed all episodes. She said she was thankful for Prime Video’s support of the team at SpindleHorse and for the partnership bringing the series to its “epic conclusion,” adding that she is excited for fans to see how the story ends.
The renewal also reflects how firmly the series has settled into Prime Video’s adult-animation lineup. The show is produced by A24 and Bento Box Entertainment, and Melissa Wolfe said the series has pushed the boundaries of adult animation through bold storytelling, vibrant artistry and unapologetic heart. She added that Medrano and her team built an extraordinary world and that the streamer is giving the series and its community a fitting, unforgettable final chapter.
The timing matters because Hazbin Hotel is now moving toward a structured ending rather than an open-ended run, and viewers will not have to wait to know whether the platform is backing the property through to the finish. The only unanswered piece is the release date for the fifth season, which Prime Video has not yet announced.
