ABC still does not know whether Season 22 of The Bachelorette will ever air on the network or stream on Hulu after the season was shelved because of domestic assault allegations against Taylor Frankie Paul.
Rob Mills, who oversees the franchise, said the company is taking the matter “day by day” and would not rule out a future release. “I think her season is a wonderful season, by Bachelor standards. If it gets seen, I’m sure people will absolutely enjoy it,” he said.
Paul, the star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, was at the center of the decision that forced ABC to put the entire season on ice. The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office recently declined to file charges against her after reviewing evidence submitted by the Draper and West Jordan police departments, but that has not yet resolved the fate of the finished episodes.
The franchise has been through a rough 18 months. It has faced allegations of a toxic workplace and the departure of its two top showrunners, even as ABC renewed The Bachelor for Season 30 in June 2025 and named Bachelor in Paradise’s Scott Teti as showrunner. The Bachelor is now set to air in 2027.
Mills said the concern when the allegations surfaced was first and foremost for the people involved. “The day all of that stuff happened, really our first sort of concern was really for Taylor and the family and everyone involved in that, it was really more on a human level,” he said. He also said the franchise was “very important to us” and described the upheaval as “growing pains.”
There has also been no sign of a rescue plan elsewhere. The Bachelor and its spinoffs, including The Bachelorette, are produced by Warner Horizon, and Mills said he has had no conversations with Warner Bros. Television about licensing the season to another outlet. He said he remained “very hopeful” and believed there are “better days are ahead for the franchise,” but for now the question is simple: whether Season 22 ever reaches viewers at all.
