Jamie Ding won his 25th consecutive Jeopardy! game Thursday night, adding $35,000 to a streak that has now pushed his total winnings past $700,000.
The 2009 graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School entered the episode with 783 questions answered correctly and 61 missed during his run, a mark that shows how steady he has been while surviving round after round on the quiz show.
Jeopardy! lists Ding as a bureaucrat and law student living in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Even with his surge, he is still not in the top 10 for either highest single-game winnings or all-time winnings including tournaments, though he needs just over $46,000 to move into 10th place on the all-time list behind Pannullo.
That leaves Friday at 7:30 p.m. as the next stop, when viewers can watch Ding try for a 26th straight win. For now, his place in the show’s Leaderboard of Legends remains close but not yet secure, and the next episode will decide whether the run becomes a chase for a higher rung or just another number in a remarkable streak.
