Wireless Festival 2026 was canceled after Ye lost his UK travel clearance, with refunds promised and backlash over his antisemitic posts continuing.

Wireless Festival was canceled on Tuesday after British authorities withdrew Ye’s electronic travel authorization and barred him from entering the United Kingdom, ending his planned headline slot at the three-day event this summer. Festival Republic said refunds would be issued to all ticket holders.

The booking had already triggered backlash over Ye’s antisemitic social media statements and songs, and at least four corporate sponsors, including Pepsi, distanced themselves from the festival. Ye also released a song titled “Heil Hitler,” adding to the pressure on organizers as the date approached.

Festival Republic said the Home Office withdrew Ye’s ETA and denied him entry to Britain after multiple stakeholders had been consulted in advance of the booking and no concerns were raised at the time. A British government source said on Monday that ministers were reviewing whether to let him into the country, but that position was overtaken a day later.

Ye tried to recast the dispute on Tuesday, saying he wanted to come to London to “present a show of change, bringing unity, peace, and love through my music,” and that he would be grateful for a chance to meet members of the Jewish community in the U.K. in person. He also said, “I know words aren’t enough — I’ve have to show change through my actions,” after previously offering T-shirts with a swastika symbol for sale and declaring “I'm a Nazi” on social media.

The rapper later apologized for those comments earlier this year in a full-page advertisement, citing an undiagnosed brain injury and mental health issues. Festival Republic managing director Melvin Benn said on Monday that Ye had been invited to perform songs already being heard by millions and that he should be offered forgiveness, but the Board of Deputies of British Jews said the community would want to see genuine remorse and change before believing the main stage at Wireless Festival was the right place to test it. Phil Rosenberg said the board would meet with Ye only after he agreed not to play the festival.

The cancellation closes the immediate fight over one of the summer’s highest-profile bookings and leaves organizers to absorb the fallout from a decision that brought commercial pressure, political scrutiny and community anger together in one weekend. The remaining question is not whether Wireless Festival was shelved, but whether Ye will be able to repair enough trust to return to Britain at all.
