Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl will meet shoppers Tuesday at the Kroger at MarketPlace Terrell Mill in East Cobb, where the couple is set to appear for a Duffy’s Dough launch event from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The first 100 customers through the door will receive a Duffy’s Dough product and a $25 gift card, giving the appearance a built-in rush before the bakery line’s latest push in Georgia. For Duffy, the stop puts him back in front of the kind of broad audience that once knew him best as Bobby Ewing on Dallas, while Purl brings her own long television run from Happy Days and Matlock.
The event matters because every bit of Duffy’s Dough sold on Tuesday will send 100 percent of profits to hunger relief, and Kroger will also make a donation to Meals on Wheels Atlanta. The bread line is already on sale at Kroger stores in Georgia, East Alabama and South Carolina, making the East Cobb appearance both a launch event and a sales drive for a product that is being tied directly to charitable work.
Duffy’s Dough is presented as a family legacy, built around a recipe that came from a neighbor of Duffy’s mother and was derived from an unadulterated sourdough starter passed down by the original Alaska Gold Rush miners. The line includes Sourdough Loaf, Multigrain Sourdough Loaf, Artisan Sandwich Roll, French Dinner Roll and Sourdough Demi Baguette, and it is connected to hunger relief groups including No Kid Hungry and Meals on Wheels America.
The pairing of a celebrity in-store appearance and a charity-linked bread sale gives the event a plain purpose: draw customers, move product and direct the money toward families that need it. Duffy and Purl, who have been a couple since 2020, are putting their name on a campaign that depends on foot traffic as much as it does on nostalgia, and Tuesday’s turnout will show how far that formula can reach.
