Bapple is back on Texas shelves, and this time it has turned up at stores in Pearland and Rosharon, along with Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. A member of the Beer Tasting Houston Facebook group photographed and posted a haul of Busch Light Apple, a limited-time beer that first launched in 2020.
The beer was available at four locations in Rosharon, including the Break Time at 3171 Meridiana Pkwy., and at four locations in Pearland, including the Kroger at 3425 Broadway St. and the Buc-ee's at 2541 Main St. The return also showed up at Applebee's, where the chain and Busch Light Apple are being paired in a collaboration that leans into the joke of the name.
Fans responded fast. Some comments on the Beer Tasting Houston post were excited, while one reply cut the sentiment differently: “F--k that Blapple I want the Blime.” That split captures the beer's place in the market. Busch Light Apple is not a year-round staple, but a return that appears in small doses after its original rollout, when plenty of spiked ciders — including versions from local, independent businesses — are already on shelves.
Krystyn Stowe said last year's return of Busch Light Apple created a frenzy among fans, and that the excitement kept building when Anheuser-Busch said it was coming back again this year. She said fans made it clear how much they missed the crisp, refreshing apple flavor, and called bringing it back an easy decision. “We're excited to give them another chance to enjoy the Busch Light Apple they've been asking for,” Stowe said. Michelle Chin added, “Applebee's and Busch Light Apple go together like apples and... apples.” The close answer is simple: Bapple is back for now, and the company is treating the comeback as a limited-time run, not a permanent return.
