BigBang is set to close the first weekend of Coachella 2026, putting the three-member group on one of the festival’s biggest stages after a run of Asian acts that has already drawn attention in Singapore time. The festival runs from Apr 11 to 13 and Apr 18 to 20, and BigBang — G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung — is scheduled to perform at the end of that opening weekend.
The first night already delivered a milestone for the region. Bini became the first Filipino group to perform at Coachella and played Zero Pressure, Salamin, Salamin and Blink Twice. The group said it was over the moon and proud to represent the Philippines on a global stage, a line that fits the scale of what the festival has become for Asian pop acts trying to break through to a global crowd.
Taemin added another first on Sunday morning Singapore time, when he took the Mojave stage and became the first-ever Korean male artiste to stage a solo performance at Coachella. He debuted six new songs during the set, a move that marked the performance as more than a victory lap. Fujii Kaze also made his Coachella debut at the Mojave stage hours before Taemin, adding to a day that was already heavy with firsts.
Katseye, meanwhile, performed as a quintet because Manon was on hiatus. The group played Gnarly and Gabriela, then joined Ejae, Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna for Golden from the film KPop Demon Hunters. Megan’s Singaporean mother, Sylvia Lee, said she felt continued love and support, and added that she could not believe she was standing in front of the Sahara stage watching her daughter and the other members crush their Coachella debut. She also thanked Hybe, Geffen Records, the staff, the production crew and the dancers for making the dream come true.
With Laufey also scheduled to perform at the end of the first weekend, Coachella 2026 is giving unusual room to Asian and Asian-adjacent acts across its opening stretch. BigBang’s set will be the clearest test yet of how far that reach can go, and whether the weekend’s biggest finish can match the momentum that has built before it.
