Green said in a statement on February 19 that he was excited to join the cast and that being on set with his buddy Grimes made the experience even more memorable. He called it his first trip into acting and said he could not have asked for a better introduction to the world.

The casting gives Marshals a country star with a built-in audience and gives Green a role that fits the image Grimes had in mind. For Marshals, the move is a simple one: a show built around hard-edged second chances has now given one to a country singer stepping in front of the camera for the first time.
