Amanda Batula and West Wilson said on March 31 that they are seeing each other, ending days of speculation that had spread across gossip social media pages and through photos of the two out together in New York. The pair issued matching statements on Instagram after Wilson had brushed off the rumors on television a week earlier.
Batula and Wilson said they had chosen to speak publicly only after taking time to process the attention around them. “We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposely hide anything,” they wrote. They added that they had needed “a little space to process things privately before speaking on it” and said their connection “grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship.”
The new relationship lands in the middle of a familiar reality-TV overlap. Batula separated from Kyle Cooke in January after four years of marriage, and the couple had married in September 2021. Wilson, meanwhile, had already been tied to another Summer House cast member, Ciara Miller, during Season 8 and after filming wrapped, with that relationship ending in December 2023.

Wilson had tried to tamp down the talk on March 24 when Andy Cohen asked him on Watch What Happens Live about the rumors that he was romantically linked to Batula. “That’s a friend,” he said, though he also added, “That's a very important person to me and, like, I care about her a lot.” A live audience poll that night asked whether viewers “ship” the couple, and 89% said no.
The timeline helps explain why the disclosure drew so much attention. Miller joined Summer House in 2021, the same year she and Wilson would later become romantically entangled on Season 8. During a reunion, Miller said Wilson told her he could not commit “basically, for show-related reasons,” a line that kept the unresolved cast dynamics in view long after filming ended. Summer House is now airing its 10th season on Peacock, with the show still built around a group of friends spending time together in a vacation home in the Hamptons.

That is also why Batula and Wilson’s announcement lands as more than a simple personal update. On a show that has spent years focusing on Batula’s rocky marriage to Cooke and on the friendships and fractures among the cast, a relationship between Batula and Wilson inevitably reads as both a new pairing and a fresh test of loyalties. The pair said they did not want their actions to hurt anyone or be seen as careless, and they said they appreciated “the understanding and respect” as they navigate what comes next.
For now, the point is clear enough: the rumors were real, the connection is new, and both are already trying to control the story before the rest of the cast does it for them.
