Solo Leveling Season 3 may be set up by a feature film first

Solo Leveling may use a feature film to bridge into Season 3, covering key manhwa arcs and leaving the rest for a 12-episode run.

Solo Leveling may not head straight into Season 3. A rumored feature film could arrive first, and if it does, it would carry the anime through one of the biggest remaining stretches of the story before the next season begins.

That film is said to cover the Recruitment Arc, the Ahjin Guild Arc and the Double Dungeon Arc, which span roughly Chapters 110 through 131 of the manhwa. Taken together, that is about 21 chapters, and at the series’ pace of around four chapters per 23-minute episode, a 90- to 120-minute movie would line up with roughly four to six episodes, or about 16 to 24 chapters. In other words, the movie would be long enough to clear a major chunk of the road to the third season without rushing the material that still matters.

That pacing is the reason the idea makes sense. Across its first two seasons, Solo Leveling has consistently adapted about four chapters per episode, which means the anime has already burned through a massive portion of the manhwa. If the movie ends at Chapter 131, the core story left for Season 3 would run from Chapters 132 through 179, or about 47 chapters. At the established rate, that is exactly the kind of workload a single 12-episode season can handle.

The potential benefit is not just arithmetic. Ending the Double Dungeon Arc in movie form would remove one of the largest remaining blocks of content before Season 3 starts, leaving the next season with a clean runway to finish the main storyline. That matters because the franchise is not out of material when the core tale ends. The manhwa also includes 21 epilogue chapters, which could be turned into a short OVA run, a final wrap-up film or a few extended episodes at the end of Season 3.

There is also a separate branch of the franchise already moving ahead. A newly released trailer for Solo Leveling’s next installment teased a brand-new original story set after the anime’s events. shifts the focus to Jinwoo’s son, , and had reached 68 chapters as of early 2026. It was on hiatus because of production changes, but it has now been confirmed to resume with a new artist.

That leaves the series at a turning point rather than a dead end. The anime’s rapid adaptation pace gives it room to finish the main Solo Leveling story in a third season, while the epilogues and Ragnarok can keep the universe alive after Sung Jinwoo’s arc closes. If the film happens, it would not just bridge the gap to Season 3. It would almost certainly be the step that lets Season 3 finish the job.
