Lainey Wilson says she plans to freeze her eggs in April, a personal decision she revealed in a trailer for her upcoming Netflix documentary, Keepin' Country Cool, released April 8. The country star says in the clip, "I feel it in my heart that I was called to be a mama" and adds, "I'm gonna freeze my eggs in April, put those babies on ice."
The trailer shows Wilson, 33, in a hospital wearing a specialized gown and head covering alongside her fiance, Devlin "Duck" Hodges, 29, underscoring how the singer is making a family-planning choice while still in the middle of a demanding public life. Wilson got engaged to Hodges in February 2025 and has already said in a previous interview with People that wedding plans are moving slowly, telling the magazine, "Honestly, we're taking our time."
That timing matters because Wilson is revealing the decision while she is still riding the momentum of a career that has brought her multiple Entertainer of the Year Awards, No. 1 hits such as "Watermelon Moonshine" and "Somewhere Over Laredo," and a full run of dates on her Whirlwind World Tour in 2025. In the trailer, she describes the pace of her life as "a whirlwind" and says, "The performer, the artist, the songwriter, the girl who's going to shake everybody's hand…" before adding that she is "just about people-d out."

For Wilson, the documentary appears to frame the choice as part of a larger message about not having every detail figured out, even at the top of the business. She says in the clip that "It is important to show people that I don't have my s--- all together," and adds, "I am thankful for the life that I live" and "It's about celebrating what we are given."

The film Keepin' Country Cool premieres April 22 on Netflix, and the trailer suggests the central question is not whether Wilson has slowed down, but how she is choosing to build a life while the spotlight is still at full strength. Her answer, at least for now, is that the next step is already set: April in the hospital, then the wedding later, on her own clock.
