Invincible season 4 episode 6 landed on Prime Video on April 8, 2026, and its mid-credits scene briefly made it look as if Conquest had clawed his way back from the dead. The episode, titled “You Look Horrible,” ends on Conquest’s freshly dug grave before a small gust of wind blows dirt across the screen and confirms he is still dead.
That mattered because Mark Grayson had already killed Conquest for the second time in episode 5 of season 4, which made the tease land like a deliberate prank rather than a real resurrection. The fake-out was enough to send fans scrambling to X within minutes, where one user wrote, “This post credit scene is killing me they really had me convinced Conquest was gonna somehow return.” Another said, “That conquest post credit fried the f–k outta me, I actually fell for it for a second.”
The reaction did not stop there. Invincible News posted “NO FUCKING WAY, ARE YOU KIDDING ME” and the message drew 2.5 million views, while Leo Dasilva wrote that the show runners had tried to prank viewers into thinking Conquest was still alive. William Tyler, a longtime comic book reader, added that he thought Conquest was coming back and was ready to be furious about it as a comic fan.
This was the second time the creative team behind Invincible used a post-credits scene to tease Conquest’s fate, after the character previously survived an apparent death in the season 3 finale. That history is what gave the latest fake-out its sting: viewers had reason to believe the show might be setting up another return, only for the dirt-blown reveal to shut the door again.
The clearest answer is that Conquest is still dead, and the episode’s ending was built to make fans doubt what they were seeing for just long enough to matter. What remains is whether the series keeps using that same trick, or whether this was the last time it will let a grave do the talking.
