The mystery caller who interrupted Kathy Hilton during Part 2 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 15 reunion was her husband, Rick Hilton. Kathy revealed the answer on Thursday, May 7, after viewers watched her take the call while her youngest sister, Kyle Richards, was in the middle of telling an emotional story.
Kathy said she answered because it was her birthday, her phone was lighting up and the family was trying to get to the desert with the dogs. "It was my birthday," she said, adding, "And my phone was blowing up, blowing up, blowing up." She said, "And it was getting late. And we were supposed to drive down to the desert. And the dogs, the whole thing. So it was my husband."
She also said she could not make out the calls clearly because the phone kept beeping and she was not wearing her glasses. "And it kept beeping and without my glasses, so I just was like, 'I can't talk'," Kathy said. The moment landed in the middle of a reunion segment that had already put Kyle and Mauricio Umansky's long-delayed divorce filing back under the spotlight.
Andy Cohen used the reunion to ask why Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky had been slow to file, and Kathy said she thought the delay could be "a little denial." Kyle, for her part, said she and Umansky had not felt any reason to rush the process, but added that if someone new comes into either one of their lives, it would force their hand. "We haven't felt that and needed to do that," she said. The exchange gave the reunion its sharpest edge: a family split playing out at the same time as a legal one that remains unfinished.
