Netflix New Releases: 10 movies streaming now, from thrillers to comedies

Streaming services have a new movie for nearly every mood right now, and has rounded up 10 new and notable titles available on , , , Prime Video and other platforms. The list includes theatrical releases arriving on streaming for the first time, along with a mix of thrillers, comedy, documentary and romance.

One of the biggest drawls is a survival thriller starring as a grieving rock climber in Australia after a tragic loss. plays the sadistic serial killer hunting her through rivers and mountains. Another dark turn comes in the post-apocalyptic sequel with as John Garrity, the engineer and father whose family is back in the story five years after a comet wiped out much of civilization.

That sequel picks up with Garrity and his family leaving a survival bunker in Greenland when it becomes unlivable, then traveling toward France. The movie is part of the current wave of theatrical releases finding a second life on streaming, a trend that gives viewers a chance to catch up without leaving home.

Another title in the roundup centers on a couple played by and after their daughter calls to say she hit a young girl on a remote road. Most of the action stays inside the parents’ car as they race to help her, turning the trip into a pressure cooker of fear and guilt. The setup is simple, but the stakes keep tightening as the journey goes on.

The documentary entry digs into the origin story of Shawn Michaels, a longtime WWE fan favorite who became one of the GOATs of pro wrestling in the 1990s while battling drug addiction. It arrives with a wider pop-culture backdrop, after Netflix’s recent Hulk Hogan docuseries helped push wrestling history back into the conversation. For viewers who want something beyond scripted drama, it offers a look at a career built on charisma, pain and reinvention.

Josh Safdie’s sports comedy heads to the world of 1950s table tennis, with Timothée Chalamet playing shoe salesman Marty Mauser, a man willing to do anything to become a ping-pong champion. Gwyneth Paltrow appears as a famous actress, adding a little extra shine to a movie that treats competition as both absurd and serious. The setup is playful, but the ambition driving Marty is not.

The roundup also includes an Italian romantic comedy about Elisa, a single mom running an estate in a Tuscan town when childhood friend Michele returns home. Matilde Gioli plays Elisa, and Cristiano Caccamo plays Michele, giving the story a familiar setup built around old feelings and new choices. It is a gentler counterpoint to some of the darker material in the list.

For something heartwarming, Sally Field stars as Tova, an aquarium cleaner who trains Cameron, a young cash-strapped drifter played by Lewis Pullman, on the job. Alfred Molina voices the octopus Marcellus, giving the dramedy a memorable extra voice. The story leans on unlikely connection and small acts of care rather than spectacle.

Rachel McAdams fronts Sam Raimi’s dark comedy-thriller as a strategy expert and Survivor superfan trapped with her sexist tech-bro boss, played by Dylan O'Brien, on a deserted island. The movie gets gory and bonkers from there, pushing the rivalry into full survival mode. It is the kind of nasty, high-concept setup that can make a streaming lineup feel alive.

The value of the roundup is plain: it takes the guesswork out of what to watch next. Between action, documentary, romance and offbeat comedy, these Netflix new releases and streaming arrivals cover enough ground to hold a weekend together without repeating the same note twice.
