Connecticut starts with areas of fog and low cloudiness, but the day is expected to improve as breaks of afternoon sunshine develop and temperatures climb into the upper 60s and low 70s. Isolated to widely scattered showers are also possible later in the day, and a few downpours could pop up as a weak cold front moves through.

A few showers from Sunday night are expected to linger into early Monday, especially along the shoreline, before the area dries out by the morning commute. Cloudiness should then give way to at least partial clearing Monday afternoon, although highs are expected to stay unseasonably cool in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

The stretch after Mother’s Day looks mixed but mostly unsettled. More sunshine is expected on Tuesday, then Wednesday is forecast to start dry before showers arrive late and continue into Thursday, which is expected to be the wettest day of the week. A few showers could linger into Friday as temperatures stay below average through the end of the workweek.

The pattern is expected to flip next weekend, when temperatures climb into the low to mid 70s on Saturday and could turn even warmer on Sunday. The good news for anyone planning ahead for mother's day 2026 or for the days that follow is that the weather is expected to stay dry throughout next weekend.
