Nikki Glaser says Leonardo DiCaprio responded to her Golden Globes jokes with three baskets of pasta, a gift she called “so entirely unexpected.” Glaser said she first learned the baskets had arrived when someone sent her a photo, and only then was told they were from DiCaprio.
Glaser made the joke during her January monologue at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, saying DiCaprio’s favorite food was “pasta, pasta, and more pasta.” She later said she had mailed thank-you notes and flowers to the celebrities she teased that night, but DiCaprio was the only one who wrote back after receiving them.
The exchange landed months later, on Wednesday, May 6, when Glaser described the gift and the reply as a surprise from a star who rarely explains himself in public. She said the pasta baskets taught her something she could not get from interviews he does not do: that he is “a legit, kind, cool dude.”
The joke itself reached back to January 1991, when DiCaprio said in an interview that pasta was his favorite food. Glaser said she had forgotten that detail when the baskets arrived, then realized the gift matched the punchline with three servings of pasta. “It was so entirely unexpected,” she said, adding that she was bowled over by how kind it was for him to answer a roast with a personal gesture.
For Glaser, the odd little exchange was the point. She said she did not dwell on it, because any correspondence with Leonardo DiCaprio still felt surreal. But the message from the pasta, and from the note that came with it, was clear enough: the joke landed, and so did the response.
