The Only Way is Essex star Jake Hall has died aged 35 after an accident in Spain, according to reports. He was believed to have been found dead in a holiday villa in Santa Margalida, Mallorca, where he was staying after returning home alone from a night out.
Hall joined the cast of TOWIE in 2015 and appeared on the show between seasons 14 and 17, but he was also known outside television for building a fashion career and launching a clothing brand after a previous attempt collapsed. Police had not made any arrests, and six people staying at the villa had been questioned as investigators worked on what a police source said was the theory that he died after hitting his head against a glass door.
The loss lands hardest on the daughter Hall left behind. River, who is eight years old, had featured in his last Instagram post before his death, which showed him dancing with her, painting and appearing to enjoy his time in Mallorca. In that video, Hall wrote: 'Life is b*llocks sometimes but I’m gonna try remember the good things - looking through things - I’m just making art - in many forms.' He had been in an on-and-off relationship with River's mother, model and fellow reality star Misse Beqiri, before the pair split after their engagement ended in 2018.
There is still no final answer on exactly how Hall died, and police have not said they have ruled out any line of inquiry. But the case already fits a grim pattern for the reality show community this year: a source said it is the second tragic incident involving the TOWIE cast after Jordan Wright died in Thailand earlier in the year, reportedly found in a drainage pipe at the age of 33. An FCDO spokesperson said the family of a British man who died in Spain was being supported and that contact with local authorities was ongoing.
For Hall’s family, friends and fans, the immediate fact is no longer his place on television or in fashion. It is that a 35-year-old father of one is gone, and the investigation now has to explain whether a night out in Mallorca ended in a single fatal fall or something else entirely.
