’s first foldable iPhone may not be on store shelves yet, but a fresh leak is giving the device its clearest public shape. shared photos on X this week purporting to show dummy models for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the iPhone Fold, and the foldable stood out immediately: it looks very wide, much more squat than the two Pro models beside it.

The dummy model also appears to show a different rear-camera layout, with two lens cut-outs set into a smaller raised bump than the iPhone 18 Pro models. That lines up with earlier reports that said the foldable would have a 5.5-inch outer display and 7.8 inches of screen space when opened up. If Apple stays on its current path, the foldable could arrive later this year or in 2026, though a separate report suggested the launch could slip into 2027.

The leak matters because these mockups largely match the previous renders and rumors that have built up around Apple’s first foldable. They also reinforce the most striking number attached to the device: a rumored price of more than $2,000. Apple has not confirmed the iPhone Fold, but the repeated appearance of the same basic design suggests the company’s long-discussed entry into foldables is moving from speculation toward something more concrete.

That is where the story gets tricky. The photos may make the device feel close, yet the timetable is still unsettled. A foldable iPhone is now being discussed in the language of dimensions, camera bumps and dummy units, but whether Apple can bring it to market later this year, in 2026 or not until 2027 remains the key question hanging over the project.
