is offering lease deals across the Model Y range in May, with the cheapest Rear-Wheel Drive version starting at $459 a month on a 36-month term. The deal requires $4,155 due at delivery.

That upfront amount includes the first monthly payment, an acquisition fee and a $3,000 down payment, and Tesla says the lease comes with 10,000 miles a year. Drivers who go over that limit will pay $0.25 per mile.

The company is pushing five separate trims of the tesla model y through lease offers available in most states, though taxes and fees are not included. A base Rear-Wheel Drive lease with no down payment costs $547 a month, while a 12,000-mile-per-year lease on the same trim comes to $481 a month and requires $4,177 due at delivery.

The numbers matter because the Model Y remains the best-selling EV in the United States by far, even as Tesla’s market share increased early in 2026. The lease push also lands as the company may be considering selling the larger Model Y L in the United States at some point, a sign it is still trying to defend a vehicle that has become central to its sales story.

There is still a catch. Tesla’s offers are known to change often and can vary by location, creditworthiness and other factors, which means the headline monthly rate is only the starting point. Even so, the lease pricing shows how aggressively Tesla is willing to lean on the Model Y as competition builds, including the prospect of more affordable R2 versions reaching showrooms later.

Among the trims, the Premium RWD Model Y has a 357-mile range and goes from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, while the Model Y Performance reaches 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. For shoppers looking at payment first and badge second, Tesla has made the pitch plain: the Model Y is still the vehicle it expects buyers to notice, and it is pricing that bet for May.
