Lana Condor says she would return to Lara Jean Covey for another project

Lana Condor says she would absolutely return to Lara Jean Covey for another project, and she says she has made that clear to the powers that be. The 28-year-old actress, who first became closely linked with the character through the To All the Boys franchise, said she would love to see where LJ is now.

“I’ve made that very clear to the powers that be,” Condor said. “I would love to see where LJ is now.” For fans who grew up with the series, that answer lands with extra weight because she said the franchise let her grow up alongside them.

The comments come as Condor keeps moving through a busy stretch of work. She appeared as a guest star on Netflix’s XO, Kitty Season 3, which marked the Covey sisters’ first reunion since To All the Boys: Always and Forever premiered in 2021. Condor said it had been a long time since she and Anna Cathcart had acted together and called the reunion a chance to see how Cathcart had grown as an artist.

“It was such an incredible experience to be able to go into [Kitty’s] world,” Condor said. “It’s been a long time since [Anna Cathcart] and I have acted together, so seeing how she’s grown as an artist was amazing.” That reunion matters because it brought back a pairing that helped define the franchise’s appeal and reminded viewers how much the family dynamic still carries the story.

She is also promoting Pretty Lethal, a ballet movie now streaming on Prime Video, and said she had not danced in over a decade before training for it. Condor, who said she was a dancer growing up, said the muscle memory returned faster than she expected. She is set to appear in Coyote vs. Acme in August.

Condor recently partnered with Thorne on a women’s libido boost supplement campaign that also features ballet dancer Misty Copeland. “I can’t believe Misty’s in this campaign,” she said, adding that she had been a fan for years and that the collaboration felt meaningful alongside her own return to dance on screen.

There is also the less polished side of the job. Condor said she uses lymphatic drainage to get through a long day and will prep with a massage or hyperbaric chamber during press for Pretty Lethal. “It’s very grueling and exhausting, but I’ll prep my body with a massage or hyperbaric chamber,” she said. “Those things really make it so I can show up.”

Off camera, she lives in Los Angeles with her husband and is watching Love Island for the first time, a habit she said has made her less productive. Even with a packed schedule, Condor’s answer on Lara Jean leaves little ambiguity: she wants back in, and she wants audiences to know it.
