Chase McWhorter said he went on a date with Hallie Batchelder in New York City on Tuesday night and made it clear he would not mind a second round. Speaking Wednesday night at Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea live event, McWhorter said he was open to as many more dates with Batchelder as she wanted and described himself as a big fan of hers.
“Any chance I get to see her, I’m stoked about,” McWhorter said, adding that the “vibes” were “so good.”
The date comes after weeks of public hints that the two had been circling each other. Batchelder, who lives in Manhattan and is known for lifestyle videos with Graydon Cutler, posted an Instagram Story earlier this month showing herself sitting arm-in-arm with McWhorter at Coachella. McWhorter also posted a photo of Batchelder kissing his cheek, a sign that their festival run was already moving beyond small talk.
A source told People that Batchelder and McWhorter had been DMing for a bit before Coachella and met in person for the first time there. The source said their flirting took over at the festival, with Saturday marking their first kiss at the end of Justin Bieber’s set and Sunday bringing more making out.
McWhorter said he got to hang out with Batchelder and Graydon Cutler at Coachella and called Batchelder “super cool,” adding that he had been a fan for a long time and had a crush on her that he told her about. Asked what comes next, he said, “I don’t know, you’ve got to ask her,” before saying he would be down for as many dates as she wants.
The timing fits a broader pattern around both personalities. Batchelder said on a recent Casual Chaos podcast episode that she hooked up with Dakota Mortensen while filming Unwell Winter Games in February, saying, “We shared a couple kisses,” and later, “It was just very, like, whatever.” McWhorter, meanwhile, shares two kids with ex-wife Miranda McWhorter, went on a date with Taylor Frankie Paul during Season 4 of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and kissed Jessi Draper at a party last month, later saying on Harry Jowsey’s Boyfriend Material podcast in March that he was learning his lesson from that kiss.
