Brown said the rumors spread while she was trying to concentrate on a WNBA preseason game, and by the time it ended, nobody had stepped in to say the story was a lie. Megan Thee Stallion and Thompson were photographed in New York City in July 2025, and Brown's comments now close the gap between a gossip cycle and the personal harm she says followed it. Her answer is direct: the rumors were false, and she says the cost of being left alone to deny them was fear, security and a family pulled into the fallout.
