Subway rolled out its first-ever Fresh Value Menu nationwide on April 28, 2026, giving customers 15 entrees priced under $5 as the chain looks to draw budget-conscious diners without stripping away the brand’s core promise of made-to-order sandwiches.
The lineup includes Deli Faves, Protein Pockets and Subway’s Sub of the Day, with the new Deli Faves priced at $3.99 for four classic, fully customizable six-inch sandwiches: the BLT, Cold Cut Combo, Spicy Pepperoni, and Ham & Salami. Subway said the offer is available at participating U.S. restaurants, including more than 18,000 locations nationwide, and most items on the Fresh Value Menu have more than 20 grams of protein.
The move lands on April 28, 2026, and it arrives with a blunt message from the chain’s leadership. Dave Skena said Subway’s Fresh Value Menu proves customers do not have to choose between eating well and saving money. He also said a customer’s wallet and stomach deserve freshly baked bread, real protein and the right mix of sauces and hand-chopped vegetables, all for under $5.
Subway said the menu is intended to deliver quality, variety, convenience and satisfying portions at an unmatched price. At participating restaurants, the Fresh Value Menu appears in a new yellow section, and customers can also browse the offerings on the Subway App or Subway.com. The company said prices are higher in California, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii, and that third-party delivery costs more.
The launch puts a sharper edge on Subway’s value pitch at a time when fast-food chains are leaning hard on lower-price menus to keep traffic moving. For Subway, the test is whether the combination of a familiar name, a low price and high-protein items is enough to make the subway value menu feel like more than a short-term promotion.
