Patrick Mahomes shared positive news off the field on Instagram on April 7, posting that 1587 Prime has been nominated for the 2026 Kansas City Favorites in four categories. The high-end steakhouse he co-owns with Travis Kelce was recognized for fine dining, steak, wine selection and specialty cocktails.
Mahomes said he and his team were honored by the nomination and thanked the community for welcoming them and for joining them at the table. The restaurant, created with hospitality group Noble 33, opened in 2025 inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel and takes its name from the numbers on Mahomes’ and Kelce’s jerseys, 15 and 87.
The nod arrives during a stretch when much of the 2026 NFL offseason has centered on Mahomes’ recovery from a torn ACL and LCL suffered in December. The knee injury required extensive rehab and ended his season, and Kansas City went 6-11 without him, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
Mahomes has recently offered a more encouraging sign of progress, sharing a video of himself throwing at the Chiefs’ facility. That does not erase the fact that his absence changed the season, but it does show the quarterback is moving back toward the field while his restaurant venture is already drawing attention in Kansas City.
For now, the public-facing milestone belongs to 1587 Prime. The bigger question is how quickly Mahomes can turn that same momentum into a full return to football after a year that left both the Chiefs and one of their biggest stars with unfinished business.
