The clue pointed to an announcement made on April 12, 1955, the 10th anniversary of the death of a famous American. Ding said afterward, “It's weird,” and added that he still did not believe it, but that the run had felt like a celebration of his life and journey. His 30 wins put him fifth on the all-time consecutive wins list, behind Ken Jennings, Matt Amodio, James Holzhauer and Amy Schneider.
