and took their first trip to New York City together on April 22, and they did it in full view. The pair were seen walking arm in arm through Manhattan, with Johnson making the outing hard to miss in a strawberry red barn jacket and Role Model in a gray V-neck sweater, dark-wash jeans, a leather jacket, stark white sneakers and a baseball cap.

Johnson’s jacket was identified as the Elodianna barn jacket, a cotton-canvas piece in a garden-fresh shade of strawberry red. She paired it with black straight-leg jeans, $238 velvet ballet flats from , a burgundy The Row Astra Bag, oval sunglasses, Love hoop earrings and a pinky Jessica McCormack ring. Earlier in April, those same accessories had already shown up on meet-ups in Los Angeles, and this month she had worn the same The Row velvet ballet flats for three straight dates.

The look landed at the same moment a pigmented Spring 2026 color trend was joining their dates for the first time. The shade carried blue undertones and had been seen on the runways of , and Prada, but Johnson was the one who brought it into the street-level version of the story. The result was a public outing that read less like a casual walk and more like a carefully composed front-row lesson in how fashion trends move from runway to real life.

That is what made the red jacket matter on Wednesday: it tied a run of repeated public dates to a color story already building in fashion, and it gave Johnson’s latest appearance a sharper point than another New York stroll would have had on its own. The jacket did the work of a headline before the day was over.
