Virginia Gov. said on ’s podcast that he has “more to give” and discussed finishing his term before moving on. The Republican governor said he and had talked about him “finishing,” and that Trump accepted he was committed to doing so.

Youngkin’s comments land at a moment when the political ground under him has shifted hard. The source says he wants a job in the Trump administration, but it also says Virginia Democrats gained momentum after his rise: beat by 15 points last November, Democrats picked up 13 seats in the , and Youngkin’s side lost the in the 2023 midterms.

On presenter Sean Hannity’s podcast, “Hang Out with Sean Hannity,” Youngkin said, “I have more to give.” He also said, “So, what he and I talked about before I was done was me finishing,” and added, “I always deeply respected him, because he believed that when I told him I needed to finish, that I was committed to it, and he was going to let me do it.”

The remarks point to a governor who is already thinking beyond Richmond. The source says Youngkin’s net worth is about $400 million, much of it tied up in equity from the private-equity firm he led before running for governor in 2021. He won that race in 2021, but his political standing has since been complicated by the 2023 losses in the General Assembly and the broader Democratic gains last November.

That is the tension in Youngkin’s posture now: he is speaking like a man with another chapter ahead, even as his own record suggests the political lift around him has already weakened. If he does end up in a Trump administration role, it would be a next step shaped less by what he just accomplished in Virginia than by what remains available after four years in office.
