James Carville said Republicans will get trounced in November and told Donald Trump he may not last past April next year. In a Politicon video, the veteran strategist said the result would feel like getting "punched in the mouth by Mike Tyson" for Trump.
Carville also said Republican senators "can’t stand" Trump and would stay on the sidelines while Trump and Pete Hegseth are investigated "to no end." He said Democrats’ special-election overperformances and Trump’s approval rating point to a possible 55-seat Senate majority for Democrats.
Carville’s Politicon Video
Carville made the warning in a Politicon video. He said people have had enough of "the stealing," "the corruption," "fake a-- wars," and high prices, and he told Trump, "It’s over, dude."

He also said Trump would become a "lame duck" and be shunned by congressional Republicans. Carville said it would become clear to them that Trump was "a loser and you’re a losing bet," a line he tied to Republicans stepping back as investigations grow.
Pete Hegseth and the Pentagon
Carville said, "I don’t think Pete Hegseth realizes how much he’s despised in those five rings," referring to the Pentagon. He said Pentagon insiders would feel emboldened to come forward with damaging information and added, "Everything that you’ve done is going to come forth."

The article says Hegseth has been embroiled in scandals during his tenure, including Signalgate, which involved sharing sensitive war plans on a messaging app. It also says there were accusations of war crimes tied to the killing of survivors of a U.S. strike on an alleged drug-smuggling boat in the Caribbean, along with reported bombing of two Iranian girls’ schools by U.S. missiles during Trump’s ongoing war with Iran.
Trump’s Next 81 Days
Carville said Democrats are going to investigate Trump and "your stupid jacka-- kids and their spouses and all the other bulls--t that you see." He forecast that Trump won’t "last" past April next year, saying Trump would think, "I got to get the hell out of here," and would "cut a deal" and resign.
The comments come as Democrats have flipped 30 state legislative seats from red to blue since Trump returned to the White House last year, while Republicans have not flipped a single state legislative seat in that period. Carville’s 55-seat Senate projection, along with the razor-thin margins already in place, sets up a November fight that could reshape who controls the chamber.
