has renewed her global publishing deal with , extending a partnership that began when she first signed with the company in August 2023. The Icelandic-Chinese artist made the announcement while she is in the middle of a sold-out world tour across 22 countries.

The deal keeps one of pop and jazz’s fastest-rising writers in place as her career hits another peak. Laufey is a two-time Grammy Award winner who became the youngest-ever recipient of Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for Bewitched in 2024, according to the , and she won her second Grammy for A Matter of Time at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2026. Since joining Warner Chappell in 2023, she has also released two further albums, helping drive a run that has brought her more than 8 billion global streams and a social following of over 25 million.

The renewal lands in the middle of an unusually busy stretch. A deluxe edition of A Matter of Time, titled A Matter of Time: The Final Hour, is due on April 10 and will include four new tracks. Later in April, Laufey will make her literary debut with the children’s book Mei Mei The Bunny, which is due out on April 21 through . The timing gives the new publishing agreement immediate weight: her songs, tour, album rollout and book project are all moving at once.

Warner Chappell executives said the company sees Laufey as more than a breakout act. called her a generational talent with a gift for songwriting that feels both timeless and entirely new, while and said they are deeply honored to continue their partnership with an artist whose work and vision reach well beyond the stage. Laufey said she was excited to be in continued business with the company.

Her path to this point has been unusually fast but not accidental. She learned piano and cello as a child before studying at Berklee College of Music, where she wrote her debut EP, Typical of Me. The lead single Street by Street reached No. 1 on Icelandic radio. She signed a recordings deal with in 2021 and extended that partnership in November 2023 after Bewitched set the record for the biggest debut for a jazz album on Spotify.

The renewal is less a bet on a future breakout than a bet on an artist already operating at full scale. With a world tour, a deluxe album on the way, a children’s book arriving later in April and a catalog that keeps widening, Laufey is no longer being introduced to the market. She is defining it.
