Gunnar Eudy blasted the way WWE inducted his father, Sid Eudy, into the Hall of Fame, saying Saturday that the ceremony was “straight up disappointing and disrespectful as hell.” He said the company did not give Sid the spotlight he deserved and added, “I’m glad my dad was big enough to put himself over even in death, because WWE damn sure wouldn’t.”
Gunnar said he did not see a single ad for his father in Las Vegas and said the Hall of Fame gift shop had zero merch for Sid, while being loaded with Dennis Rodman merchandise. “It felt like they just swept him under the rug like a footnote, rushing to get him out of the way,” he wrote. He also thanked fans for the support shown to his family.
The criticism followed WWE’s Hall of Fame ceremony, where Sid Eudy and Bad News Brown were inducted as Legacy inductees. No one spoke on behalf of either man, and the company showed only brief videos for both. Their families were seated in the crowd during the presentation.
The night also included the Immortal Moment presentation for the Hogan vs. Andre match at WrestleMania III, with Jimmy Hart appearing onstage alongside Hulk Hogan’s son, Nick Bollea, and Andre the Giant’s daughter, Robin Christensen-Roussimoff. Hart spoke briefly before unveiling a statue of Hogan bodyslamming Andre, and neither family member spoke. The contrast sharpened Gunnar’s complaint: Sid was recognized, but barely, and his son said the tribute looked more like a rushed afterthought than a Hall of Fame induction.
