Michelle Renaud is back in the gym with baby Milán at her side. On April 15, she shared a workout video on Instagram showing herself doing planks, push-ups, squats and crunches while her son lay on a mat below her, then ending the routine on a treadmill with the child in her arms.
The post carried the title “Hagamos que la maternidad vuelva a ser grandiosa,” and Renaud paired the footage with a message that read, “Que tus hijos sean tu motivo y no tu pretexto,” followed by another line urging mothers to let their children inspire them and give them the drive to keep pursuing their dreams. By the time she got on the treadmill, Milán was deeply asleep.
Renaud and Matías Novoa welcomed Milán at the end of January, making him their second baby together. The timing gives the video a clear weight: it comes just two months after birth, as Renaud frames exercise not as a break from motherhood but as part of it. She has made that point before, posting another reflection under the same “Make Motherhood Great Again” theme in which she wrote, “Dicen que la maternidad te frena, y a mí es lo que más me ha hecho darme cuenta lo poderosa que soy. No me detuvo, me hizo mejor.” In that earlier video, she was seen taking her son Milo by the hand and carrying Milán in a baby carrier.
Novoa responded to the new workout post with, “¡¡¡Venga guapa!!!” His support fits a period in which he has been trying to balance work and family time after traveling to Mexico shortly after Milán’s birth on January 31 to present the telenovela El Renacer de la Luna. He has also made quick stops in Madrid to see Renaud and the children, saying he misses his family while working and that he and Renaud agreed he would take part in the project. “Voy a tener el tiempo para viajar e ir a verlos, pero también tener la conciencia de que esto va a ser un tiempo y nada más,” he said, adding, “Siempre estoy al pendiente de ellos, de los bebés. Veo una foto y pues digo, 'ay, qué ganas de abrazarlos'.”
The new video leaves little doubt about how Renaud wants this chapter seen: not as a pause in her life, but as a return to it on her own terms, with Milán quite literally along for the ride.
