Judd Nelson was spotted in Los Angeles on April 13 as he rode through the city on a motorcycle, a rare public outing for the 66-year-old actor. He wore a bushy gray goatee, a black trench coat over a gray henley shirt and camo cargo pants, and had a backpack, helmet and safety gloves on as he prepared to board the bike.
Nelson has largely stayed out of the public eye in recent years, making the sighting notable on its own. He did step back into the spotlight in 2025, joining his Breakfast Club costars Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Emilio Estévez and Anthony Michael Hall at multiple events marking the film’s 40th anniversary.
Nelson played bad boy John Bender in the 1985 film The Breakfast Club, a role that helped define the movie’s place in pop culture. In 2019, he told PopHorror that he felt lucky to have been on such a fast horse, said the film remains relevant years later and called it a testament to the work of John Hughes, who made movies about young people without implying they were less.
The Los Angeles appearance fits the pattern: Nelson has kept a low profile for years, but he has not entirely disappeared from public view. After a handful of anniversary events in 2025, the latest sighting shows the actor still moving easily between near-privacy and the kind of attention that has followed him since The Breakfast Club.
