The Petaluma piece was later posted as an individual segment on the CBS Sunday Morning YouTube channel.
The segment fits a pattern the program has been using in recent weeks, with similar brief Nature mini-movies from south-central Pennsylvania, Florida’s Orlando Wetlands, Mason County, Texas and Niagara Falls, New York. On KPIX, the program airs weekly at 6 a.m., giving the Sunday Morning audience a quiet final look at a landscape that feels studied rather than staged.
That is what made the Petaluma clip land. One viewer who said they have lived in the area and photographed the landscape through the seasons for nearly 50 years called it “a postcard” and said the tree-filled scene brings “a sense of peace” and “a calm mind,” while nature sounds help “heal stress and fears.” The praise matches the segment’s own point: the beauty was not only in the hills, but in the stillness the camera made room for.
