A number of Pixel owners have reported bootloop problems after recent updates over the past two or so weeks, leaving some phones stuck on the G logo at startup and unusable. The reports have turned up on Issue Tracker and , and they stretch from the Pixel 6 to the Pixel 10.

Among the devices named by users were the Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 7 Pro. Google said it is “actively investigating and working on a resolution,” after previously asking for bug reports and saying teams were “actively working to identify a fix.”

The appears to be the culprit, according to the pattern in the reports. Affected Pixel owners were directed to contact customer support.

The issue does not appear to be extremely widespread, but it has been disruptive for the people caught in it. Some users said even recovery mode was bootlooping, which makes a factory reset harder to use as the usual escape hatch. One Pixel 9 Pro owner said they had not hit the bootloop problem, but did see severe system UI lag after the update.

For now, the practical question is whether Google can push out a fix fast enough to keep the problem from spreading through the next wave of updates. For the people whose phones are stuck on the boot screen, that answer cannot come soon enough.
