Bobby Flay says he is starting production on a new Food Network series, and he is calling it the “quintessential Food Network show.” The project has been in development for nearly three years, and Flay said filming will begin in April 2026.
Flay revealed the news during a recent episode of the podcast Bobby on the Beat, saying the series will be “obviously” about cooking and set in some sort of professional cooking environment. He said it will answer a lot of questions about how chefs and cooks do their jobs in the restaurant business.
That puts the show squarely in Flay’s lane. He is one of Food Network’s most recognizable stars, and he already appears on Beat Bobby Flay, Bobby's Triple Threat and BBQ Brawl. The new series would add another cooking competition-style project to a lineup that already keeps him front and center on the channel.
The timing matters because Flay said April 2026 will be taken up largely by filming, which means the series has moved from a long development cycle to a concrete production plan. After 2.5 to 3 years of work behind the scenes, the network now has a new show built around a simple promise: real professional cooking, in a real professional environment, with questions about restaurant life at the center of it.
