Lindsie Chrisley’s boyfriend, David Landsman, was arrested and booked in a Georgia jail in early April 2026 after authorities said he allegedly strangled her during an argument. Landsman was taken into custody at the Cherokee County jail and charged with one count of aggravated assault-strangulation.
An insider said Landsman allegedly went berserk after Chrisley confronted him about an alleged lie he had told. Law enforcement noticed visible injuries on Chrisley when they arrived on the scene, according to the same account. The arrest turns a relationship that had been playing out publicly into a criminal case, and it came just weeks after Landsman asked Todd Chrisley for permission to marry her.
Landsman also posted a photo on his Instagram Stories showing Chrisley’s hand with an engagement ring and tagged Todd Chrisley while asking for permission to have his child’s hand in marriage. The gesture added a strange layer to a relationship that, by then, was already heading toward conflict.
Chrisley has been at odds with her family for years, and the feud has repeatedly spilled into public view. Todd Chrisley discussed the conflict on the Chrisley Confessions podcast, saying, “It’s unfortunate that we have to get up to this again, and we have to start addressing the same sht- that we’ve addressed for six years or longer.” Julie Chrisley has called the family drama unfortunate and said, “I do not like for there to be tension in this family.”
The tension extended beyond the parents. In 2025, Savannah Chrisley was seen screaming at Lindsie Chrisley during an episode of Back to Reality, and in a trailer she told her to “lose our last name.” Lindsie later said she had considered dropping her surname because of the family’s ongoing controversy, saying that for a long time she struggled with carrying the Chrisley name and that, beyond the reality show, it did not create income or opportunity for her. She hosts the Southern Tea podcast.
The arrest leaves a public family split with a criminal charge attached to it. What was once another bitter Chrisley argument is now a domestic violence case in Georgia, and Landsman will have to answer that charge first.
