Roku added six new dedicated channels to The Roku Channel, making them available immediately on Roku TVs and Roku streaming players. The lineup includes Channel 313 with Rawhide, Channel 314 with The Beverly Hillbillies, Channel 624 with Ink Master, Channel 815 with Toso.o and Channel 978 with MTV en Español.
Rawhide, which originally aired in the late 1950s and early 1960s, featured a young Clint Eastwood in a breakout role as ramrod Rowdy Yates. The Beverly Hillbillies follows the Clampett family after they strike oil and move to Beverly Hills, while Ink Master pits skilled tattoo artists against one another in a competitive format.
The additions give The Roku Channel more of the mix that has helped make it a popular destination for cost-conscious viewers looking for varied programming. Because the service uses an ad-supported model, Roku is able to expand its free streaming offerings without asking viewers to pay for access to the new channels on roku.
