The weekend streaming slate is crowded, but one new title is doing the most work: Outcome began streaming Friday on Apple TV, bringing Jonah Hill back as director, co-writer, co-producer and cast member in a dark Hollywood story built around Keanu Reeves.
Reeves plays Reef Hawk, a fictional Hollywood actor forced to confront his past while dealing with an extortion attempt after a mysterious video surfaces. The movie also stars Cameron Diaz, Matt Bomer and David Spade, giving Apple TV a fresh title that lands in the middle of a busy weekend for viewers sorting through the best movies on netflix alternatives and other new releases.
That competition is real because the same stretch of days also brought back The Boys on Prime Video to open its fifth and final season, while Maul — Shadow Lord returns one of the most familiar Sith figures from the prequel era. Sam Witwer is back as the voice of Maul, and Wagner Moura joins the series as Brander, a police detective.

There is also a strong TV draw in Shrinking, which wrapped up its third season this week and has already been renewed for a season 4. The show has kept Harrison Ford's Dr. Paul at the center of a crossroads in his therapy career as he navigates life with Parkinson's disease, while Jimmy is still living with the loss of his wife, who died before season 1 began. Cobie Smulders plays Sofi in the series.
