Universal Studios Florida is set to permanently close Fast & Furious Supercharged in 2027, ending a ride that never won over many guests and clearing space for a new Fast & Furious experience. The move comes as one more sign of a larger transformation underway at the park.
For years, the attraction has been a target for Universal fans who have called it outdated, awkward and cringeworthy. Its queue has drawn far better reviews than the ride itself, which leans heavily on screen-based simulation and offers limited physical movement. That gap between expectation and delivery has helped make the ride one of the most discussed disappointments in the resort.
The latest sign that the end is nearing came on April 10, 2026, when Inside Universal posted that all 3 cars had been removed from the Fast & Furious: Supercharged exit. For guests watching the area closely, the removal was another clue that Universal is moving ahead with the change.
That matters now because Universal Orlando Resort has built its reputation on immersive lands and cutting-edge attractions, and this project is part of keeping that identity intact. The closure also tracks with the reaction across social media, where many fans have called the long-criticized ride’s end long overdue. The new Fast & Furious attraction has not been detailed publicly, but the old one now has a clear finish line: 2027.
