Fathom Entertainment and Cineverse are bringing Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth back to theaters on Oct. 9, 2026, for a 20th-anniversary rerelease that will show the 2006 film in 4K for the first time. The title will also be available in 3D and HDR by Barco.
The move puts one of del Toro’s most acclaimed films back on the big screen with premium presentation options, and Cineverse is expected to highlight the special screenings at CinemaCon next week. Yolanda Macias, a Cineverse executive, said Fathom is the ideal partner for the rerelease, while Ray Nutt said the two companies are presenting Pan’s Labyrinth with premium large format viewing options, including 3D, for audiences revisiting it and those seeing it for the first time.
Originally released in 2006, Pan’s Labyrinth won three Academy Awards from six major nominations during its theatrical run. The Spanish-language dark fantasy film, written, directed and produced by Guillermo del Toro, has also remained Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 95% approval rating since its debut, a record that helps explain why a return now carries real commercial and cultural weight.
That combination of awards recognition, critical staying power and upgraded presentation gives the rerelease a clear target: moviegoers who want a theatrical experience that feels newly engineered rather than merely recycled. The question now is how much of an audience still wants to meet a 20-year-old favorite in 4K and 3D after it has spent years as one of del Toro’s most durable titles.
