Gorillaz will play India for the first time in 2027, announcing two shows in two cities as part of The Mountain Tour. The band said on its official Gorillaz and District Instagram accounts that it will perform in Bengaluru on January 23, 2027, at the District Arena @ Terraform and in Mumbai on January 27, 2027, at Jio World Garden in BKC.
The announcement gives fans the first official dates after weeks of waiting following the release of The Mountain, the 15-track album that was heavily inspired by India. All tickets will be sold only on the District app, with Mastercard cardholders getting presale access from 1pm on April 13 until 1pm on April 18. General sales open Saturday, April 18, at 2pm.
The new dates mark a long-awaited arrival for the group, which debuted in 1998 and built The Mountain around experiences in India while processing loss. The record was made across Mumbai, New Delhi, Jaipur, Rishikesh and Varanasi, and it features performances in five languages: English, Hindi, Arabic, Spanish and Yoruba. That India connection now extends from the album into the live show, with the tour set to bring Gorillaz to two of the country's biggest music cities in the same week.
What makes the announcement notable is its timing and its narrow scope. Gorillaz is not adding a sprawling run across the country but a two-city debut, and the band is limiting ticket sales to one platform, a detail that puts the District app at the center of the rollout. For fans, the next step is simple: presale opens first, then general sales follow four days later, and the first chance to see the band in India comes in Bengaluru on January 23, 2027.
