Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing” Air Jordan 3 is coming back in 2027, more than 20 years after the pair first arrived and after years of growing into a collector’s grail. The sneaker is slated to return during the spring 2027 fashion calendar through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers, according to trusted sneaker leaker @zsneakerheadz.
The shoe first dropped in 2007 with a blue and yellow palette lifted from the poster for Lee’s 1989 film, and it was not immediately praised. Over time, though, it turned into a sought-after item that could fetch as much as $1,000 on resale platforms. The 2027 version keeps the look familiar: sky blue nubuck covers most of the upper, the toe tip and heel counter mix that blue with gray elephant print, and orangish yellow lands on several eyelets, the heel stabilizer and the tongue lining. Gray appears in the lacing system, tongue, collar and heel, while small green hits show up in the forefoot stitching and heel Air unit. The Jumpman comes in yellow on the mustache and green on the tongue.
The 2007 release mattered for another reason, too. It marked the first time nubuck had been used on the Air Jordan 3 instead of leather, a switch that gave the model a different feel from the original. Do the Right Thing itself remains one of the earliest major big-screen portrayals of sneaker culture, which helps explain why this pair has lasted in the conversation long after its debut. Jordan Brand also marked the film in 2017 with an Air Jordan 4 featuring a scuff on the toe, though that pair was limited to friends and family.

One detail remains unresolved: pricing has not been confirmed. The model typically retails for $210, but no images are available yet for the 2027 version. For now, the return of the sneaker answers the question that collectors have been asking for years — the Spike Lee pair is coming back, and it is coming back with the same colors and story that turned it from overlooked release to prized find.
