Shiloh Jolie appeared in K-pop star Dayoung’s music video for “What’s a Girl to Do,” and the production team says it did not know until later that the 19-year-old dancer was the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The video was released on April 7 and lists Shiloh in the closing credits as “Shi.”
Starship Entertainment, which manages Dayoung, said it held an open audition in the United States on April 3 to cast performers for the video and that several dancers affiliated with a crew called Culture took part. Shiloh was selected in the final round and joined the shoot as a background dancer, the company said.
The casting matters because it puts the youngest Jolie child into another professional credit under a shortened name, months after she filed paperwork in May 2024 to legally drop “Pitt” from her surname and asked to be known as Shiloh Jolie. That change became official in August 2024, and Shiloh had previously performed under the name “Shi” last year.
There is also a clear gap between the ordinary way the video was cast and the celebrity attention that followed. Starship said it only learned by chance quite recently that the dancer it had hired was Jolie’s daughter, even though filming had already wrapped and the finished video was already public. The company’s account suggests the audition was handled as a standard open call, not a family-name booking.
Shiloh’s credit fits a pattern inside the Jolie family. Maddox Jolie recently dropped his father’s last name in the credits of “Couture,” Angelina Jolie’s 2025 film, where he worked as an assistant director, while Vivienne Jolie was listed in the playbill of Broadway’s “The Outsiders” as a producer assistant in 2023. For Angelina Jolie, who once said of her children, “I cried and cried,” the latest credit is another sign that her children are starting to shape their own public identities, one project at a time.
What happens next is likely to be less about the mystery of who Shiloh was and more about what she chooses to do with the name she now uses. If she keeps working under Shiloh Jolie or “Shi,” the paper trail is already in place.
