Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman, the couple whose romance unfolded on Love on the Spectrum, have reportedly split after a disagreement about marriage. A source told a U.S. Sun report on Thursday, April 9, that the pair called it quits because they could not agree on when to get married.
The source said Abbey, 27, was ready years ago, while David, 31, still needed time. Fans had watched them fall in love in season 1 of the series, then follow their relationship through the later seasons as the two bonded over lions and waterparks.
The breakup report landed just days after season 4 premiered on April 1, when viewers saw another couple, Madison Marilla and Tyler White, get engaged after one year of dating. At the time, Abbey had said she hoped she and David would be next, but Isaacman had framed the timing more cautiously, saying, “We could only be engaged whenever the time is right,” and adding, “I love you to infinity and beyond.”
That difference in pace now appears to have become the central fault line in a relationship that the show had followed across multiple seasons. A source close to Isaacman said he is doing very well, but the reported split closes the book on a pairing many viewers had been rooting for since season 1.
